How Funds Are Spent

The Crohn’s MAP Vaccine team are all volunteers so there are no overheads and the charity administration costs are met by the University. All money therefore goes directly to the research team at King’s College London.

It costs approximately £6700 per month to conduct the research needed to complete the new MAP test; this ‘companion diagnostic’ is essential for the clinical trial of the Crohn’s MAP Vaccine. This money is spent on:

  • Research scientist’s salary
  • Open access to core scientific facilities such as super-resolution microscopy, advanced laser-capture microdissection, flow cytometry, proteomics and genomics and advanced image analysis software
  • Reagents and laboratory consumables
